What is a Life-Style Coach? A Life-Style coach is a counselor who helps clients to clarify their goals, ambitions, weaknesses and future plans in the interest of helping clients live happier and more fulfilling lives.
Successful Living:
Successful living is long-term thinking of self awareness! We get bogged down with schedules, demands of others, day to day operations/requirements. Too often we put to aside our own requirements -- what we require to take care of ourselves to maintain our own healthy state of mind and body.
We often "feel" a sense of responsibility to ensure others meet their goals or desires and put ours on hold for later. But when does later come to us? When was the last time you visited your goals, your desires or even your health issues outside your doctor's office?
The Face of Honesty:
Most people talk to friends and family about personal issues -- but are you truly honest to them, to yourself about how you feel? The worse thing in the world is telling someone what you want to accomplish out of life and hear "you can't do that because..." That just knocks the wind right out of your sails. What right do they have to say that? Friends and family members are not always the most positive people to have to back you up if you know what you want. They maybe your most negative force to keep you back for their own personal gain. On the other hand, I have met clients who claim they had goals they desired more than anything, but the only person keeping them from achieving those goals was themselves -- they were causing their own self-destructive behavior -- sabotaging their own success. Hearing the truth can be a hard pill to swallow, but a necessary one to move forward in life. This is when a client needs to accept the responsibility for their own actions if they want to change their behavior.
Positive Attitude:
Have you ever noticed that if the weather is gloomy and you accept it -- your attitude will be just as gloomy as the weather? But if the sun is shining, the birds are singing -- it puts a spring in your step and a song in your heart and your whole day seems brighter. Facing life is the same way. Having a positive outlook, a positive attitude each day will bring you more joy, a more positive response throughout your day and help you reach your goals each and every day. If you look back at the end of each day and think of all the positive things that happened -- name at least 5 things, you will soon realize that each day was better than the day before.

Facts about Exercising:
Exercising is all about movement of the body and getting all your muscles into action. You actually start losing weight when you use more calories than you consume. So, the bottom line is to figure out what your numbers are or if you're not into the number game - spend more time moving and less time consuming. Or something like that. ;) But what about body movement...what constitutes body movement?
- Walking around the mall, park or block
- Evening strolls after a meal (what could be better than walking off that meal you just ate?)
- Walk your dog or if you don't have one, borrow your neighbor's dog or volunteer at an animal shelter
- Participate in some outdoor sports - like tennis, biking, rock climbing, swimming, playing ball, etc.
- Help a friend move their furniture - redecorate a room
- Chase your kids around the house or neighborhood park (that will make them happy and wear you out, hahahaha)
- It's all about getting off the couch or easy chair and doing something you may enjoy
